Do you remember those good old days of being a child submerged in this magically exciting world of imagination and boundless energy?. You were “invincible” you could do or be anything you dreamt possible. Your heart was open and beaming with joy and unconditional love. A natural lust for life ran through you making you want to just scream out in utter happiness, remember?
As the years rolled by, and you traveled further away from your original source of love, you started to forget that wonderful feeling. Your parents, your peers, and societies shortcomings and insecurities were forced on to you. You begin to accumulate feelings of anger, hurt, and resentment. You found yourself constantly trying to “measure up” to this perfect model you are told you must be, and your soul became buried by feelings of self loathing, and doubt. You could never be good enough right?. Once you have been successfully stripped of your self, and completely broken, society then labels you from your credit score, to your mental state. Your choices have been taken away, and who you are is chosen for you.
That is ridiculous, you do have choices!. You have the choice to refuse to ALLOW these absurd theories and labels to be forced in to your being. A choice to decide who YOU’D like to be. I think it’s time to send an eviction notice to that miserable, rigid, and joyless person that you have allowed to move in to your body, and have that timeless child that lives in everyone of us to move back in.
This doesn’t mean that we are going forget about our responsibilities and go play in the sprinklers all day. It just means to stop taking yourself and your life so serious, to “lighten up a little” as my Dad says. Find humor and laughter in the small things again. Take a little time to look at the beauty around you, the birds, the flowers, clouds the sky. Trust. No your problems are not going to suddenly end, but you can change your reaction to them. You’ve made it this far somehow haven’t you? “you’ll survive” as my good Ol‘ Gram said. Life is short, why not have some fun?.
Get back to the original source…YOU!
